Fred Brumley
Funeral services for Wilfred Alfred Brumley, 91, Bakersfield, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Brumley passed away at 3:00 a.m., Sunday, February 4, 2018 at his home.
He was born November 12, 1926, at Wyatt, Missouri, to Eugene Brumley, Sr. and Maddie Ornduff Brumley. Mr. Brumley was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion of Bakersfield, Missouri and Commander of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) of West Plains for over ten years. In 1987, he was married at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Bertha Lister. Before his retirement, Mr. Brumley was a clerk at the United States Postal Service in Jefferson City, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Brumley, of the family home; seven children, Linda Jefferson and husband, George, Elaine Hernandez and husband, David, Mary Callahan and husband, Richard, Roger Brumley and wife, Phyllis, Pat Sloan and husband, Jack, John Oetting and wife, Mary and Aaron Oetting; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one brother, James Brumley and wife, Terri and two sisters, Barbara Wilson and Mary Southard and husband, Roger; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one daughter, Rose, six sisters, Minnie Brumley, Mae Masik, Mella Fern Barnard, Melissa Maupin, Connie Heathman and Nancy Reed and three brothers, Eugene Brumley, Jr., Paul Brumley and Warren Brumley, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans) of West Plains and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

I will miss Uncle Fred so very much. He was such a vibrant and awesome man, he will be missed by all who knew him. I’m sorry I will not be able to attend services to honor his amazing life. My heart and thoughts are there with you. All my love. Tina Culp
