Lenora Deidiker

Funeral services for Nettie “Lenora” Deidiker, 98, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Church of the Brethren, Peace Valley, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Deidiker passed away at 5:35 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at West Vue Nursing Center, after fighting a battle with congestive heart failure.

She was born December 9, 1920, at Peace Valley, Missouri, to Martin “Marty” Ferguson and Nova Stokes Ferguson.  On September 13, 1938, she was married at Peace Valley, Missouri, to Charlie Herman Deidiker, who preceded her in death January 13, 2009.  This marriage of 70 years was blessed with three children, six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  Charlie and Lenora operated a small farming operation in Peace Valley until 1944, at which time Charlie was called to active duty during World War II.  Lenora worked for International Shoe Company until her retirement in 1983, for a period of over 35 years.  She was an avid reader and worked numerous hours with word games, her favorite hobby.  Lenora’s most cherished author was John Grisham in which she and her son swapped books for many years.  But, her home was her pride and joy, every dust spot was removed, sometimes before it stopped; everything in her home had a place and she was not satisfied until it settled into that spot.

She is survived by sons, Floyd Deidiker and wife, Patricia, West Plains and Jim Deidiker and wife, Sue, Rogers, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Johnnie Deidiker, West Plains; five grandchildren, Carl Deidiker, West Plains, Christy Tharp and husband, Larry, West Plains, Shelia Alvarado and husband, Jose, Rogersville, Missouri, Allison Helvey and husband, Joe, Port Angeles, Washington and Emily Zehm and husband, Charles, Mountain Home, Arkansas; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Doris Deidiker, Farmington, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, one son, John Deidiker, one granddaughter, Janet Deidiker, two great-grandchildren, Jose and Manuel Alvarado and one sister, Elsie Judd, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to OMC Riverways and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
