Funeral services for Daniel George Mallek, 70, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2020 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Mallek passed away at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2020 at his home.
He was born April 21, 1949, at Downers Grove, Illinois, to Peter Joseph Mallek and Winifred Lee Page Mallek. Mr. Mallek was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy. He worked as a logger and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends playing games, hunting and fishing. His laugh and smile was contagious.
He is survived by four children, Gretchen Mallek and significant other, Darrin Tucker, West Plains, Missouri, Crystal Barnard and husband, Chris, West Plains, Sylvia Wilson and husband, Mitch, Willow Springs, Missouri and Danielle Bettis and husband, Tony, West Plains; eleven grandchildren; one brother, Peter Seven “Steve” Mallek; two sisters, Darlene Jolliff and husband, Bob and Joy Anderson and husband, Richard; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

i was shocked to hear my grandpa danny had passed away i hadnt been in touch much wish i had been everyday now i think of him how much i wish i had been around more often i had also missed his ceromony which im very sad that i missed it he will be loved and missed alot expecually from me i loved hearing about his stories back in the day and hearing his hunting and fishing stories too precious memories ill cherish i remember helponh him skin squrrials and him giving me the tail to play with i was about 8 years ols i am now 20 years old last time i had seen my grandpa i introduced my husband Shaun Smith to him and he was doing ok that i had thought and after that my mom had told me he wasnt doing so good i tried schedualing days to see him but had to be when my husband was off work and now months after that i got a message as soon as i woke up he had passed on i was very sad but hes in a better place now but its so hard to believe hes already gone
