Jack D. Emerick
Graveside services for Jack D. Emerick, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012, at Oak Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Emerick died at 10:10 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at West Vue Nursing Center.
He was born July 15, 1927, at Fort Collins, Colorado, to Howard and Mildred Dorr Emerick. He graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1945 and on June 26, 1949, was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Emma Lou Conrad. Mr. Emerick was a veteran having served with the United States Air Force, United States Navy and United States Army Reserves. Mr. Emerick had worked at Foremost, was a bookkeeper at Pease -Moore Mill and before his retirement, was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed golf, sports and loved his family, especially his daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Emerick was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Plains.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Lou Emerick, of the family home; one daughter, Christy Ingalsbe, West Plains, Missouri; two grandchildren, Khara Moss, husband, Nathan and Shaun Ingalsbe, wife, Jackie, all of West Plains; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Moss, Haylee Ingalsbe and Brody Jack Moss and expecting a great-granddaughter in January; one sister, Bernadean Fuller, husband, Glen, Scottsdale, Arizona, one nephew, John Myers, Switzerland; several cousins and many friends.
His grandparents that raised him, Will and Leota Emerick, his parents, one son-in-law, Carl Ingalsbe and one nephew, Gary Myers, precede him in death.
Mr. Emerick will lie in state from 11:00 a.m., Thursday until Noon Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to A.L.S. Research (Lou Gehrig ’s disease), and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Dear Emma Lou, I was so sorry to learn of Jack passing. I just want you to know that through my Mom & Dad I had the opportunity to meet some wonderful people in my life & I consider you & Jack some of those that I have had deepest respect for. When I get back on my feet over this illiness I will be in touch with you to help in any way I can.

my son (43 years old ) saw Jacks obit in the paper and said ” mom rember the mailman that gave me gum everyday when we lived in town ? this is him.” what a wonderful man this guy was with a heart of gold. so sorry for your loss. mom of Mark Warren
