This makes me sad to see this. I had Mrs. Franks for a 6th grade teacher. She was always so pleasant and nice. WE all loved her as our teacher. Even when I would see her after I had grown up, she would always remember me, and that meant a lot. She will most definitely be missed by all that knew her.

Roger/Candace and Franks Families,
We want to express our deepest sympathy to all of you on the passing of Maxine. She was my 6th Grade Teacher at Central. My Dad, Norris Cozort, taught in the district at the time and was a fellow colleague of Maxine’s. She was a wonderful caring individual and I enjoyed our friendship very much after I returned to West Plains 24 years ago. She enjoyed coming to our Class Reunion 10 years ago and visiting with the Class of 1981. We enjoyed her being there too. She will be missed. During this difficult time we will be praying for all of you and may God comfort, encourage, strengthen, and give each of you peace.
In Christian Love,
Norris/Ivene Cozort

Mrs. Franks was a good friend and colleague to my Mother (Lorene Dotson) as part of the 6th Grade team at Central. They spent many hours together teaching, learning, and no doubt lesson planning. Blessings to the Family and be assured hers was a life well- lived.

I had Mrs. Franks for the 4th grade at Fairview School. She was a wonderful teacher. She was interested in all her students and we felt loved. She made learning fun. I worked at the bank and she was one of my favorite customers. We talked alot about how the West Plains area was changing and growing. She was a positive person and I enjoyed visiting with her. She was so proud of her family. She loved to tell stories about raising her little brother, Roscoe.

Mrs. Franks will be missed by all. She was never my teacher but I knew her while in school and she was always a bright spot. Her and Mr. Franks were mu husband and my landlord for a year after we were married and lived in West Plains. Best couple ever!!!!! I had seen her recently and we talked awhile at one of her doctors appointments. I am not sure she remembered me as I was not her student but she remembered my sister and cousins. Mrs. Franks I miss you already!!! Rest easy dear lady!!!

We just found out about the passing of our dear Eastern Star sister, Maxine. She was more than just a sister, but also a beloved friend. She sat with Charles, and just down the hall Mom sat with Dad, as they spent their final days on Earth. We shared a lot of hugs. I’ll miss calling her, just to chat and catch up on her day to day life. And now that she has passed into the loving arms of our Father, dear Lord please give her a hug from Teri and Steve Covington. We’ll miss her.
