Mrs. Kathy Weaver, Rhonda/Terry, and Weaver Families,
Our Condolences to all of you on the passing of Mike. I have fond memories of him not only visiting my schools in West Plains R-7 to educate us but at Curry Street Church of Christ during our Vacation Bible Schools back in the 1970’s. He always had a smile on his face, able to talk to us, and enjoyed his artistic ability sharing that with all of us too. He will be missed. All of you will be in our daily prayers/thoughts. May God bless all of you.
In Christian Love,
Amber(Cozort), Tim, and Corby Redburn

I remember meeting Sgt. Weaver in kindergarten in 1970. I thought that anyone who could enforce the law and keep their shoes that shiny was amazing. I told him after the presentation that I was going to be a state trooper when I grew up, but he told me that girls couldn’t be troopers. I cried. Six years later, he was back at school for the annual presentation and he pulled me aside when it was over and told me that if I still wanted to be a state trooper that Missouri had just hired its first “Mama Bear”. I figured out later that I hated working traffic, but wore a uniform as a deputy sheriff and city police officer for many years. I remember walking into Troop G the first time in my uniform and he was sitting at the front desk. He shook his head and smiled. God bless you, Sgt. Weaver for giving us all someone to look up too.

Visiting my high school my senior year Sgt. Mike inspired me to enjoy a law enforcement career of almost 20 years with the Howell County Sheriff’s Department. We used to kid each other about having the same last name but not being related. May he rest in peace, and may we soon see him again in the Kingdom.
