Eugene Cope

Funeral services for Eugene Cope, 72, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mr. Cope died at 9:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2013, at his home. 

He was born April 7, 1940, at Gum Spring Mountain, Sparta, Tennessee, to Beecher Ray and Mammie Paulene Johnson Cope.  On July 16, 1963, he was married at Toledo, Ohio, to Katy Linderman. 

He is survived by his wife, Katy Cope, of the family home; four children, Robert Shelton, wife, Tonya, Decatur, Alabama, Samuel Shelton, wife, Crystal, West Plains, Missouri, Gina Phol, husband, Leroy, State of Wisconsin and Ronald Cope, State of Florida; seven grandchildren, Misty Morris, husband, Eddie, Lila Williams, Marriya Wake, Christopher Shelton, wife, Casey, Shawn Shelton, wife, Molly, Jacob Shelton, wife, Heather and Samantha Shelton; eight great-grandchildren, Cody McCormack, Kiara Howell, Tristan Morris, Ethan Wake, Elizabeth Williams, Hannah Morris, Annie Wake and Brody Shelton; and two brothers, Bobby Cope, Sebring, Florida and Burt Rutherford, Sparta, Tennessee. 

His parents, two brothers, Billy and Pinky Cope and one sister, Marie Cope, precede him in death.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2013, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the South Fork Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to West Plains Regional Animal Shelter, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
