Mildred LuFrancis Mayfield
Funeral services for Mildred LuFrancis Mayfield, 98, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mayfield died at 6:10 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Ozarks Medical Center.
She was born January 27, 1914, at Zanoni, Missouri, to Preston and Eyonia Copaus Womack. On October 20, 1934, she was married at Trail, Missouri, to Charles Green Mayfield, who preceded her in death on August 30, 1963. Before her retirement, Mrs. Mayfield worked in the food service department at West Plains Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, making dolls, quilting, crocheting, and loved her family and all babies. Mrs. Mayfield was of the Church of Christ faith and was baptized at the age of 15. She was a member of the West 160 Church of Christ.
She is survived by seven children, Raymond Mayfield, wife, Delores L., Monroe, Louisiana, Loretta Jinson, husband, Orval, California, Missouri, Joyce Stewart, husband, David, West Plains, Robert Mayfield, Strafford, Missouri, Lynn Mayfield, wife, Carol, Greenfield, Indiana, James Glendel Mayfield, West Plains, Missouri and Reta Langston, husband, Neil, West Plains, Missouri, twenty-three grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 45 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Womack, wife, Lee, West Plains, Missouri; one sister, Wanda Burgess, West Plains, Missouri; and two daughters-in-law, Ruby Mayfield, West Plains, Missouri and Myrtle Mayfield, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Her parents, husband, two sons, Preston and Jackie Mayfield, six sisters and two brothers, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
