Ellie was my Girl Scout leader throughout the 1960’s until I graduated Jamestowm High School in 1966. After that, I still participated in troop activities for another 2 years. Seeing her photo brought back a flood of memories about our camping trips! We went to Virginia Beach, World’s Fair in NYC, West Point, a Canadian national park, and just locally around Chautauqua County – with Norm as our driver, and Steve along for the fun! I can still build a campfire, light it with one match, and cook an entire dinner including dessert! Wonderful memories of good times and a wonderful woman!
P.S. I have been living in the San Francisco Bay area for many years – the survival skills I learned in Scouts with Ellie (and Lois Bylund)’s help have gotten me through many power outages and earthquakes!
Love to you all, Cindy

Her 25 year with the Girl Scouts was a very important part of her life that she talked about a lot. She never stopped loving her girls!!! Equally important were her many friends!!
