Sharon Kay Wells
Funeral services for Sharon Kay Johnston Hoopes Wells, 72, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wells passed away at 3:02 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024, peacefully at her home.
She was born May 29, 1951, in West Plains, Missouri to Cecil L. Johnston and Freda M. Parsons Johnston. Sharon wed George B. Hoopes Sr. on December 17, 1969 and had three children, Cathy Rae, Joby and Heather. On April 21, 2001 Sharon wed, Ray C. Wells, Jr. and welcomed into her home three more children, Jason, Amber and Nicole. Sharon retired from Marathon Electric and then enjoyed many years with ARM Enterprises until her health declined. She loved to sew and was an avid sports fan and her favorite place to be on a Friday night was in the stadium under the Friday Night Lights. She loved her Chiefs and was a proud Zizzer.
Sharon is survived by her children George B. (Joby) Hoopes and wife, Kimberly of West Plains, Heather Ogden and husband, Colby of Joplin, Jason Wells and wife, Angie of White Church, Amber Conway and husband, Wayne of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Nicole Wells of West Plains; seventeen grandchildren, Tiffany, Shavahn, Evin, Keegan, Michael, Zachary, Curtis, William, Katana, Cattibrie, Willard, Donovan, Jessica, Tyler, Matthew, Emily, Gabriel; twelve great-grandchildren; one beloved sister, Cathy J. Downen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Joe C. Johnston, her first husband, George Blake Hoopes Sr., her husband Ray C. Wells, Jr., one daughter Cathy Rae Duke and one granddaughter Rosalie Whiteman.
Visitation services will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mackey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO 65775.

May you be blessed in all the prayers as well as knowing that she touched many lives and left good memories for so many of us.
When I think about Sharon it always includes her sweet disposition and her happy smile.
