Rudolph Lawrence Eck
Funeral services for Rudolph Lawrence Eck, 84, West Plains, Missouri and formerly of Peace Valley, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, White Church, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Eck died Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Belleville Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois. He was born December 28, 1928 at Fredericktown, Missouri to Stephen and Anna Rose Kuzma Eck. On November 16, 1950, he was married at Kingston, North Carolina to Goldie Inez Delaplain who preceded him in death on July 13, 2012. Mr. Eck was a veteran having served with the United States Marines; before his retirement, he was a truck driver and farmer in the Peace Valley area and enjoyed fishing. He was of the Catholic faith with his membership at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church; also, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Shipley, Vanzant, Missouri and Sandra Huckabey and husband, Joseph, Pomona, Missouri; six grandchildren, Lisa Rodgers and husband, Jimmy, Jenny Hambelton and husband, Greg, Jaci Robinson and husband, Billy, Brianna Shipley, J. L. Huckabey and Catherine Huckabey; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Eck and wife, Rosie, Sainte Genevieve, Missouri; three sisters, Mary Ann Henke, Glen Carbon, Illinois, Micheline “Micky” Owens, Granite City, Illinois and Elizabeth “Beth” Hellrun and husband, Dan, Troy, Illinois; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Eck, Bossier City, Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews
His parents, wife, one brother, Richard Eck and one brother-in-law, Edwin Henke, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Cemetery or the Knights of Columbus and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
