Charles Prickett Foster
Funeral services for Charles Prickett Foster, 80, West Plains, Missouri, will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Foster died at 2:15 a.m., Sunday, February 26, 2012, at his home. He was born February 21, 1932, at Butterfield, Arkansas, to Arthur and Blanche Orr Foster. Mr. Foster was a veteran having served with the United States Air Force. He graduated from University of Arkansas in 1976 with an E.D.D. On August 4, 1953, he was married at Malvern, Arkansas to Joyce A. Green. Before his retirement in 1995, Mr. Foster was the superintendent of the Mountain Grove school system for nine years and worked for the Department of Education from 1976-1978, he then joined Barker-Phillips-Jackson Insurance Agency. He served as President of Missouri Independent Insurance Agents from 1990 to 1991. Mr. Foster was also a Mason with Masonic Grand Lodge of Arkansas. Mr. Foster attended First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Foster, of the family home; one son, Chuck Foster, Fayetteville, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Brooke Robertson, husband, Chad, West Plains Missouri; and was the beloved Poppy of Riley Simpson, Hunter McCullough, Dylan Robertson and Ali Robertson; one brother, Melvin Foster, wife, Rose, Springfield, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one daughter, Julie Simpson, one sister and two brothers, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or charity of your choice and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
