Charles Benton “Shorty” Albin
Graveside services for Charles Benton Albin, 96, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Albin died at 5:00 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2013, at NHC Healthcare.
He was born February 18, 1917, in Howell County, Missouri, to Emery Lorraine Albin and Lucy Evaline Zumwalt Albin. On March 16, 1937, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Maudie Irene Riley Albin, who preceded him in death on September 24, 2003. Before his retirement, he worked at Invensys. Mr. Albin was a member of Spring Creek Church.
He is survived by three children, Ruth Smith, husband, Ed, West Plains, Missouri, Jim Albin, wife, Nann, West Plains, Missouri and Ben Albin, wife, Judy, Grandview, Missouri; six grandchildren, Casey Albin, Kimberly Dunmire, Torrey Albin, Trett Albin, Chuck Smith and Sherry Bassham; ten great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ralph Albin, West Plains, Missouri, Porter Albin, wife, Maxine, West Plains, Missouri, Glen Albin, wife, Fern, Mineral Wells, Texas and Dennis Albin, wife, Lois, Jacksonville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, wife and four sisters, precede him in death.
Mr. Albin will lie in state from 4:00 p.m. Wednesday until Noon Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Church, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Jimmy, so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I have so many wonderful memories of Charles and Maude when we were all neighbors on 6th Street. They were both wonderful people and momma and daddy (Jack & Ollie) thought the world of them. My thoughts are with you and the rest of the family.
