Carl Edward “Eddie” Morgan
Funeral services for Carl Edward “Eddie” Morgan, 59, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Morgan went to be with his Savior at 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2013, at his home.
He was born May 27, 1954, at West Plains, Missouri, to Carl O. Morgan and Martha Mae Yocham Morgan Weaver. Carl received his education in the schools of West Plains, Missouri, and graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1973. He met his soul mate, friend and lifelong companion, Rose Thompson at the age of thirteen; Carl and Rose were married August 3, 1973, at West Plains, Missouri and from this union, two children were born, son Michael H. Morgan and daughter Rhaquinda C. Morgan Guy. Carl retired from the City of West Plains after working for twenty-eight years as an equipment operator. He was a volunteer fire fighter for seventeen years, serving with the Howell Rural and lastly with the Pumpkin Center Fire Department. He loved the sport of racing and enjoyed working at the West Plains Motor Speedway. Carl was a big racing fan and for twelve years he competed in demolition derbies. He enjoyed the outdoors and working on his yard. Doing volunteer jobs was a thrill for him. He never met a stranger and made many friends by helping others. His biggest pride came from his grandchildren and just living life. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Morgan, of the family home; two children, Rhaquinda C. Guy, husband, Bradley, West Plains, Missouri and Michael H. Morgan, wife, Belinda, Mountain Grove, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Rena Morgan, Jesse Morgan, Dakota Morgan, Wyatt Morgan, Carlena Morgan, Dustin Tiger, Dakota Tiger and Brooklyn Guy; one sister, Shirley Collins, husband, Vern, West Plains, Missouri; step-father, Walter “Buck” Weaver; three brothers-in-law, Eddie Wake, Dennis Thompson, wife, Leslie and Ed Denny, wife, Donna; one sister-in-law, Doris Moss, husband, D.L.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents, two brothers, Michael Joe Morgan and Timothy N. Morgan, one sister, Paula Kay Wake, his grandparents, William James and Alice Mindy Collins Yocham and Clarence Morgan, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Marvie Thompson, precede him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Rose so sorry to hear of Eddie’s passing. Will be thinking about you guy’s in the next few weeks as you adjust to Eddie not being here anymore. I often thought about you guy’s and I am glad you came into my life when you did. Take care.

Rose and Rhaquinda I am so sorry for you both all of you are very great people and i was so glad to call you all my friends I will miss Carl very much but I send my prayers and best wishes to all of the morgan family. We all lost a great derby buddy.
