Linda Atkinson Burroughs

Funeral services for Linda Atkinson Burroughs, 70, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burroughs died 7:04 a.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains. She was born July 28, 1943 to Leonard Atkinson and Gladys Colbert Atkinson. She received her education in the schools of Bakersfield, Missouri and on October 22, 1964, was married at West Plains, Missouri to Eddie Lee Burroughs who preceded her in death on February 3, 1998. Mrs. Burroughs was a veteran and early in life was employed as a L.P.N. at the Ozarks Medical Center. Also, she had worked at the International Shoe Company until it closed, alone side many of her friends.

She is survived by two children, Janet G. Franks, husband, Todd, Arkadelphia, Arkansas and Blaine Burroughs, wife, Kelly, West Plains, Missouri; special son, “Wheeler”, West Plains, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Ben Franks, Laura Franks, Daniel Franks, Adason Franks, Tiffany Burroughs, Kristin Burroughs and Isaac Burroughs; two brothers, Lawrence Atkinson and Ray Poe, wife, Margaret, all of West Plains, Missouri; two sisters, Jeanie Atkinson Petrus, husband, Edward, West Plains, Missouri and Carolyn Hartman, husband, Donald; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, and one daughter, Penny Lea, precede her in death.

Mrs. Burroughs will lie in state from 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 11th until service time at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Baptist Hill Cemetery near Bakersfield, Missouri.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Hill Cemetery and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
