Lynn Danahy
Funeral services for Jay “Lynn” Danahy, 96, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Danahy passed away at 5:45 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at West Vue Nursing Center.
He was born April 24, 1919, near Koshkonong, Missouri, to John Joseph Danahy and Lucy Francis Vandiver Danahy. On December 3, 1938, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Ruth McKinney. Before his retirement, Mr. Danahy worked as a construction foreman for the City of West Plains. Mr. Danahy loved his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, farming and riding his four wheeler. Mr. Danahy was a member of the United Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of seventy-seven years, Ruth Danahy; three children, Thelma Mitchell and husband, Dale, West Plains, Missouri, Jerry Danahy and wife, Barbara, Kingsville, Missouri and Terry Danahy, West Plains, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Peggy Danahy, Creighton, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and twenty-five great-great-grandchildren.
His parents, one son, James “Richard” Danahy, daughter-in-law, Tammy Danahy, granddaughter, Denise Mitchell and great-great-grandson, Keith, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Hill Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Thelma, we saw your father’s obituary in the Quill and were sorry to learn he had passed.
We didn’t know him, but we know how hard it is to lose a parent. You have our sympathy.

I am so sorry that your Grandpa passed. Just seeing your pictures of him with your family, it shows how very much his own kids, grandkids, and greatgrandkids love him. He is a lucky man. No one can ever take those memories and those pictures away from all of you. God Bless you all.
