Dwight Jennings Laxton
Graveside services for Dwight Jennings Laxton, 71, Nixa, Missouri, formerly of West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Laxton passed away at 11:15 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at his home.
He was born January 14, 1945, to A. Y. Laxton and Lorene Fox Laxton. On May 16, 1964, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Wanda Strong. Mr. Laxton was the owner and operator of Laxton Paving Company for many years. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Laxton, of the family home; two children, Mark Laxton, Dayton, Ohio and Jennifer McCormick, Nixa, Missouri; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, June Roberts and husband, John, Pottersville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one daughter, Leshia Laxton, one sister, Pat Deatherage and two brothers, Robert and Ronald Laxton, precede him in death.
Mr. Laxton will lie in state from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
