Nora Earlene Harris
Graveside services for Nora Earlene Harris, 82, Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of Bakersfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Elijah Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Harris passed away at 9:40 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Care Manor Nursing & Rehab.
She was born August 22, 1934, at Elijah, Missouri, to Vince Samuel Evans and Tavie Bell Dodson Evans. On July 12, 1954, she was married at Salem, Arkansas, to James Harris, who preceded her in death November 21, 2011. Mrs. Harris was a strong hard working woman and always did what she had to do. She worked at several different factories, was a CNA and a homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Bakersfield, Missouri and enjoyed music, sewing and flowers. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren, who she called her “Dirty Dozen”. Mrs. Harris was a Christian and was saved at an early age.
She is survived by four children, Delores June Evans, Mountain Grove, Missouri, Wanda Lou Evans and husband, Bob, Mountain Home, Arkansas, Carolyn Jean Orterry and life partner, Duane Thur, West Plains, Missouri and John Clayton Harris and wife, Mary, Springfield, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Edward Evans and wife, Jeanie, Caulfield, Missouri; two sisters, Loretta Milstead and husband, Darrell, Mountain Home, Arkansas and Carolyn Sue Peterman and husband, Jack, Caulfield, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, two brothers, John David Evans and Merle Samuel Evans, infant brother, Charles Evans, one sister, Betty Jean Arnett and son-in-law, David Leon Evans, precede her in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Elijah Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
