Thelma Lucille Pendergrass
Funeral services for Thelma Lucille Pendergrass, 88, Ava, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pendergrass passed away at 2:58 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
She was born December 7, 1928 at Hartville, Missouri to Noah Wade Manary and Grace Evelyn Lotton. She graduated from the Dora High School with the Class of 1947 and on February 16, 1947, she was married at Blanche, Missouri to Lloyd Estel Pendergrass who preceded her in death on March 17, 2015. Before her retirement, Mrs. Pendergrass had been employed at Baxter Labs. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking and loved her church work. She was everybody’s Grandma. Mrs. Pendergrass was a member of the Church of Christ having served the Pine Ridge Church of Ozark County and WaterMill Church of Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Pendergrass and her family lived in Great Falls, Montana, later moving to Mammoth, Missouri in Ozark County, Arbyrd, Missouri in the Bootheel, Dora, Ava and Springfield, Missouri.
She is survived by four children, Rickey Lee Pendergrass, Eldridge, Missouri, Mickey Dean Pendergrass, wife, Jewel, Mountain Home, Arkansas, Sandra Kay McFarland, husband, Bill, Springfield, Missouri and Sherry Ann Murray, husband, Ed, Riverton,Wyoming; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one infant son, two grandchildren, Shala Nicole Pendergrass and Casey Randal Murray, one great grandson, Jamon Pendergrass, five brothers and one sister, precede her in death.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until service time, Saturday at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fair Haven Children’s Home or Pine Ridge Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
