Raymond George Lindeman

Funeral services for Raymond George Lindeman, 92, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Lindeman passed away at 9:09 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2018 at West Vue Nursing Center.

He was born July 8, 1926, at West Plains, Missouri, to George Casper Lindeman and Mathilda “Tillie” Ann Mueller Lindeman.  He graduated from West Plains High School in 1945; his father accepted his diploma on his behalf as Raymond was already proudly serving his country with the United States Army.  When WWII ended, he was stationed in the Philippines.  Raymond besides being a veteran was a patriot and he instilled in his children how the right to vote was so important and to cast their ballot at every opportunity.  He stated after that “your vote counts just as much as the richest person in this country.”  His work included the International Shoe Company, a driver for Foremost Dairy, Cloud Oak Flooring and fuel delivery for Ozarko Oil; he also worked as a checkout clerk at the Cash Saver market until he was eighty-three.  Mr. Lindeman was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.  On October 4, 1947, he was married to Evelyn Youngblood and to this union two children were born, Larry and Donna.  Mr. Lindeman was also married to Helen Mallory who preceded him in death.  He enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, fishing (even though he wasn’t very good at it) and his favorite card game was pitch; he also enjoyed playing skipbo with his friend, Rose.

He is survived by two children, Larry Lindeman and Donna Cooper and husband, Hal, all of West Plains; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Lou Martin and husband, Al, Plano, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, wife, three brothers, Paul, Lawrence and Kenneth Lindeman and one sister, Laverna North, preceded him in death.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff, doctors and nurses at Ozarks Medical Center, West Vue Nursing Center and Christy Mitchell for their care.  Mr. Lindeman will lie in state from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund or Fair Haven Children’s Home and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
