Georgia Acklin
Funeral services for Georgia E. Acklin, 88, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Acklin passed away at 6:30 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at her home.
She was born January 1, 1930, in Lawrence County, Arkansas, to Gardner Houston Whitsell and Jessie Florence Little Whitsell. In 1943 the family moved to West Plains. Georgia graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1947. After graduating, she started working at the First National Bank of West Plains and continued with a banking career from 1947 – 2016. In 1952, she was married to Robert Click; after 16 years that marriage ended in divorce. On May 9, 1967, she was married in St. Louis County, Missouri, to Arnold Martin Kickel, who preceded her in death on December 22, 1990. In 1995, she was married to Don Acklin. Georgia really had a passion for serving and being with people. She was of the Baptist faith since childhood, with her membership currently at Providence Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Don Acklin; four step-sons, Donnie Acklin, and wife, Lynda, Terry Acklin and wife, Diana, Larry Acklin and wife, Karen and Craig Acklin; two step-daughters, Pam Freeman and husband, Ted and Ann Acklin and significant other, Kerry Vehawn; several step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one brother, Raymond Whitsell, three sisters, Reva Blackshear, Louise Bushong and Eva Featherston and their spouses and one step-son, Michael Acklin, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Baptist Church or the Family and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

So sorry for your loss I worked with Georgia at the bank and was truly delighted to find such a great person to work with. A very special lady to many people, may she rest in peace and you find joy in your memories of her.
