Arthur William “Art” Gibson

Visitation service for Arthur William “Art” Gibson, 59, West Plains, Missouri, will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2013, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mr. Gibson died January 7, 2013, at his home. 

He was born February 27, 1953, at Fairbanks, Alaska, to Glen Robert Gibson and Bernice Pauline Gibson.  Art and his family lived in Golden, Colorado for several years before moving to Alton, Missouri in the late 60’s, where Art graduated high school.  He had many fond memories of growing up in Colorado and of his close friends in Alton.  After high school, Art began college in pursuit of a Special Education degree.  While in college, he met Carolyn Lindeman and the two were married on May 25, 1974.  Though the two divorced later, they had two children from their union, Jennifer Marie and Eric John.

He is survived by his mother, Bernice Gibson, West Plains, Missouri; his daughter, Jennifer Miller, husband, Christopher; his son, Eric Gibson, wife, Emily; his grandchildren, Samuel Miller, Hanna Miller and Jack Gibson; Carolyn Gibson; several nieces and nephews; his brother-in-law, Mark Sippy; and his brother, Cecil Robert Gibson.

His father, his sister, Mary Annell Sippy and his grandparents, precede him in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
