She was born May 3, 1923, at Deering, Missouri, to Clarence and Ethel Crowe Bruton. On August 15, 1942, she was married at San Diego, California, to Muriel L. Waldrop, who preceded her in death on September 4, 2007; they were privileged to celebrate 65 years together. She loved the Lord, loved being “Mama” to her two daughters and being “Mimmie” to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson. She was so happy to see her only great-great-grandson, Lawson, on his 1st birthday. Mrs. Waldrop enjoyed being with people and being a pastor’s wife. She loved for family and friends to come to her house for any and all occasions. She also loved crafts, sewing, painting, cooking and playing games with her grandkids. Mrs. Waldrop attended Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in West Plains for several years.
She is survived by two daughters, Murlene Curtis and husband, Speedy, of West Plains, Missouri and Linda Hobbs and husband, Randal, of Thayer, Missouri; three granddaughters, Lisa Hall and husband, Peter, Rhonda Blum and husband, Rich and Gayla Olbricht and husband, Josh; four great-grandchildren, Grant Hall and wife, Amy, Logan Hall, Garrett Blum and Abby Blum; one great-great-grandson, Lawson Hall; four sisters-in-law, Nellie Rohrer, Billie Walton, Roberta Gann and Maxine Waldrop; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Her parents, husband, five brothers, Edwin, Frank, Lawrence, Henry and Elmer, six sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, preceded her in death.
She was the family anchor and will be sadly missed by her family, but is celebrating with her Lord in Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
