Berylee Martin
Graveside services for Berylee Martin, 75, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, September 27, 2013, at State Line Cemetery.
Berylee passed away September 19, 2013, after an aggressive battle with cancer.
He was born February 13, 1938, at Moko, Arkansas, to James Almone “Al” Martin and Juanita Beatrice Chestnut Martin. He enjoyed a great life the Ozarks has to offer. He was a simple strong man, an avid quail hunter. Berylee was a long time resident of West Plains; he was always ready to share a cup of coffee and shoot the bull.
He is survived by his children, Tony Martin, West Plains, Missouri and Jessie Legan, husband, Chris, Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Timmy Squires, West Plains, Missouri, Anthony Martin, West Plains, Missouri, Tonya Martin, stationed at Fort Leonard Wood and Jay Legan, Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Jerry Martin and Family, Prairie Village, Kansas.
His parents, one sister, Alverna Martin and one niece, Kelly Martin, precede him in death.

I was a classmate of Berylee and always considered him a good friend. My husband, Al, came to know him after we were married and loved to have a cup of coffee with him when we came to visit family in West Plains. We always enjoyed getting together with him at high school reunions. He will be sorely missed by all of you as well as by his many friends.

The Martin family are in my prayers…I played ball with Berylee for several years on the old West Plains Blues team…He was a wonderful ballplayer..Good third baseman and a very good hitter. Those were good days…Our infield was Jr. Barnett on first, I was on second, Jr. Baker was the shortstop and Berylee was at third base..Doin Newton was one of our pitchers so we had a pretty nice team…God bless you all…

Thanks to all who knew Bert for your kind remarks & memories. I will truly miss Bert even though we lived hours apart we were always in touch by phone & occasionally I would come to West Plains to visit. I was fortunate to be with Bert for a week before his passing.
Go with God brother & say hello to Kelly & give her a kiss & hug from all of us.

Tony and the rest of the Martin family you have my deepest sympathy of the loss of a wonderful man. I remember him from when I was a child and he came in to visit my dad and uncles at Fine Brothers Floor Covering. He was always happy, smiling, and joking around. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time
