Bobby passed away at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Bartley House.
He was born March 10, 1960, at Claremore, Oklahoma, to Jackie Leroy Cockrum and Barbara Snider Cockrum. Bobby attended the State School until he was eighteen years old and then began working at Sheltered Industries. He enjoyed taking part in Special Olympics and Sporting Chance, where he received several medals and ribbons; bowling was his favorite. Bobby collected hats and enjoyed wrestling, watching NASCAR– especially #18; he also enjoyed watching westerns and was proud of his life sized poster of John Wayne. He never met a stranger, loved life and family and was very proud when he became an uncle.
He is survived by his parents, Jackie and Barbara Cockrum, West Plains; one brother, Trent Cockrum and wife, Teresa, West Plains; one sister, Stephanie Cockrum, Hulbert, Oklahoma; and two nieces and their families, Rochelle Smith and husband, Marshall and their children, Trevin and Aria, and Taylor Parrish and husband, Jack and their son, Wyatt.
His grandparents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Children’s Miracle Network and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

My dear sweet friend has earned his heavenly wings. He was like a brother to me. I met him when I worked at Pomona. I am shedding tears but I know he is walking on the streets of gold.

I was blessed to be Bobby’s Special Olympics coach back in the early 80’s. He stole my heart, I never had problems with him on trips only laughs. There was a young lady named Bobbie Wells who was sweet on Bobby and he on her. No one could dance with her but him. He would say No No that’s my girl. I am sure they are dancing all over Heaven with Jesus smiling down on them. Someday my son will join them. As he always told me I remember you, Bobby with tears in my eyes I will always remember you.
