Graveside services for Mary Jane Green, 94, Springfield, Missouri and formerly of West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Oak Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Green died 11:07 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2019 at Birch Point Health Center and Rehabilitation, Springfield, Missouri. She was born February 23, 1925 in Howell County, Missouri to Oscar H. Robinson and Ella Jane Vaughan Robinson. She was married to John Lawrence Anthony who preceded her in death on March 10, 1964. On March 13, 1968, she was married at Salem, Arkansas to Noble J. Green who preceded her in death on March 24, 1999. Mrs. Green enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Senior Center and Head Start; also, she did candle wicking and loved to sew having taught two of her granddaughters to sew. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by three children, Janice Fox, husband, Ray, Blue Springs, Missouri, Cathy Davidson, husband, Larry, Springfield, Missouri and John Anthony, wife, Diane, Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kristine, Keith, Jon, Amy, Jessica and Jillian; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husbands, two sisters, five brothers and two infant siblings, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Green will lie in state from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 12th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paragould Children’s Home and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Daniel D. Smith, 82, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the First Christian Church of West Plains with Pastor Rick Rutledge officiating under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith passed away on July 4th, 2019 at West Vue Nursing Center. He was born to C.C. and Ella Smith at Holcomb, Missouri on June 1, 1937. The family moved to West Plains when Danny was four years old. He graduated from West Plains High School in 1955 and married his high school sweetheart, Jeanie Patillo, in 1958. They had two children, Cy Smith and Sabrina Smith Lewis. He served in the Missouri National Guard for seven years and taught school at Richards R-5 when he was a young man; Danny was an insurance adjuster in Piedmont, Missouri for about ten years, but was a salesman at heart. He sold men’s clothes, milk, potato chips, bread, trailers, insurance, real estate and was an appraiser.
Dan was a boy scout leader in Piedmont, and has been a member of many civic organizations in West Plains. In the last few years, Dan was a member of the Aid’s Coffee Group and joined them for as long as his health would allow. Dan attended the First United Methodist Church and sang in their choir for about fifty years, then moved to the First Christian Church in his later years, where he sang in the choir and attended with his family. Worshiping and praising God through song was a central part of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Patillo Smith, of the family home; his son, Cy Smith of Salem, Oregon; his daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina Smith Lewis and James Lewis, of West Plains, Missouri; his seven grandchildren, Travis Spencer Smith, Katie Janzen Eatherton (Adam), Amy Janzen, Evan Janzen, Nic Lewis, (Jordan), Brittany Lewis (Zach) and Michael Bradley; and five great-grandchildren. He also has one surviving sister, Lucy Smith Bielek, of Ventura, California; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rosalea and Dan Cargill and Carrie and David Thompson, all of West Plains, Missouri; and many special and much loved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, C.C. and Ella Smith, and four sisters, Sylvia, Mable, Mary Catherine, and Jo Ann and one brother, Willis Eugene (Gene) Smith.
Visitation will be from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 12th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Plains Police Department K-9 Cop Fund or Charity of Choice and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Services for Phillip “Keith” Bowden, 83, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2019 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
He entered into eternal rest on July 2, 2019 in West Plains, Missouri. Mr. Bowden was born March 23, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of the late D. C. Bowden and Helen Lemons Bowden.
Keith graduated from the Birch Tree High School, Birch Tree, Missouri in 1954. He later attended Southwest Missouri State College (SMSU) in Springfield, Missouri. In 1957, he married Juanita Thomas; from this union, two children were born: Scott Bowden and Elizabeth Bowden Simpson.
Mr. Bowden was a business man and community leader in Birch Tree for many years. He served several terms as president of the Chamber of Commerce and of the City Board, was a leader for the Royal Ambassadors’ youth organization, and was appointed as a Deacon in the First Baptist Church in Birch Tree. Later in his career, he became involved with Missouri Community Betterment and received the title of Missouri Ambassador for Life in 1993. He worked as chief loan officer and vice-president for the Bank of Birch Tree, an institution established by his grandfather, Charles Bowden, in 1911.
On December 26, 1987, he was married to Janice Lafevers Langston in West Plains, Missouri. After their retirements, Keith and Janice became world travelers, visiting 108 countries, the latest one in February of this year. Keith and Janice also worked as CASA volunteers for ten years and received the Dea Daniel “Hall of Fame” service award in 2018. Keith was a member of the First United Methodist Church in West Plains, Missouri and established a church scholarship fund in 2008 for college students and women returning to education. He was also instrumental in the development of the FUMC columbarium in the church prayer garden. He was a member of the Seeker’s Sunday School Class for many years.
Keith is survived by his wife, Janice, of the family home; children, Dr. Scott (Marsha) Bowden of Mountain View, Missouri and Dr. Elizabeth (Rick) Simpson of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; step-children, Matthew (Mallory) Langston of Kansas City, Missouri, Jon McKamie (Ida Kay) Langston of West Plains, Missouri and Amber Langston of Portland Oregon; grandchildren, Alan (Colleen) Simpson, Joe Simpson, Alicia Bowden, Anna Bowden, and Finn Langston; one great-grandson, Max Simpson; a brother, Doug (Kathy) Bowden of Birch Tree, Missouri; many former CASA children; two retired racing rescue greyhounds, Maestro and Garnet; and a stray cat, Katya.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the following charities would be welcomed: 37th Judicial CASA, the Alzheimer’s Association, the First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, the Greyhound Pets of America or a charity of your choice and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Bowden will be laid to rest in the First Untied Church Prayer Garden Columbarium at a future time.

Mr. Sukow died 5:50 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2019 at Brooke Haven HealthCare. He was born October 15, 1941 at West Plains, Missouri to Dale Heinrich Sukow and Charlotte Lenore Callaway Sukow. Mr. Sukow received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Missouri, Rolla, Missouri. On November 22, 1962, he was married at West Plains, Missouri to Janice Wheeler who preceded him in death on March 17, 2017. Before his retirement, he was employed as an engineer with the City of West Plains and R.L.K. Mr. Sukow was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Preslee Sukow Gannon, West Plains, Missouri; two sisters, Patricia Sublett, husband, Michael, Normal, Illinois and Sarah Highfill, husband, Dwayne, Jefferson City, Missouri; two nieces; and two nephews.
His parents, wife, and son, Marcus Dale Sukow, preceded him in death.

Ms. Wheeler passed away at 7:28p.m., Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born March 7, 1976 at Mountain View, Missouri to Lloyd Wheeler and Jessie Lorene Wheeler Hitzfield.
Ms. Wheeler had worked at Hardees; she enjoyed flea marketing and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her brother, Alan Dudgeon and wife, Tami, West Plains, Missouri; her sister, Debbie Walker and husband, Bobby, Dora, Missouri; five nieces and nephews, Christy Hicks, Tasha Phegley and husband, Anthony, Dalton Woodley and wife, Shakara, Lane Dudgeon and Tate Dudgeon and fiancée, Daegan Sympson; and her aunts, Irma Jones and husband, Gaylon, Kansas City, Missouri and Melba Rothermich and husband, Tom, Willow Springs, Missouri.
Her parents and several aunts and uncles preceded her in death.

Mr. Young died 1:06 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at NHC HealthCare. He was born March 21, 1928 at Des Moines, Iowa to Charlie R. Young and Ila D. Craig Young. On April 25, 1953, Mr. Young was married at Chicago, Illinois to Mildred “Millie” Theresa Jurich who preceded him in death on January 4, 2001. He was a veteran having served with the United States Army. Before his retirement, Mr. Young had been employed for twenty-six years as a blueprint reader with Link Belt Company, Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion and Am Vets of West Plains; also, he enjoyed playing games. Mr. Young was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by two children, Bonnie Koll and children, Brian and Dana, Chicago, Illinois and Gary Young, wife, Diane and children, Jamie and Gary Young, Jr., Chicago, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Alex and Hannah Koll; four brothers, Thomas Young, wife, Joyce, Pottersville, Missouri, Howard Young, Charles Young, and Sam Young, wife, Lana, all of West Plains, Missouri; four sisters, Violet Luna, West Plains, Missouri, Venita Howard, Dora, Missouri, Shirley Rosenbum, husband, Kenneth, West Plains, Missouri and Connie Hunt, husband, Herman, Pottersville, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.

Darleen Watson Mosby, 87, Raytown, Missouri, passed away November 25, 2017. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 10, 2917 at Francis Cemetery, West Plains, Missouri under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mosby and her husband, Harold of 60 years, enjoyed traveling together. Their most treasured trips were the many cruises they took together. Mrs. Mosby enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse (RN) having worked in multiple Kansas City area hospitals and clinics. She provided professional RN service out of country in El Salvadore in the 1980’s.
Her death is preceded by her father, Paul Edgar Watson, mother, Mary Francis Watson, husband, Harold Luther Mosby and daughter, Deborah Lou Mosby.
She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Paul Mosby, North Kansas City and David Harold Mosby, Lee’s Summit. She has three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Warden passed away at 10:39 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2017 at New Mark Care Center, Kansas City, Missouri.
Loretta was raised with love, grace, and respect by her parents Owen and Nerva Black, along with brother, Roy and sister, Meredith (husband, Leroy). She was married to Loyd Warden Jr.; their marriage brought Loretta her boys, Loyd Owen (wife, Cathy), Danny Keith (wife, Deborah). She was then gifted with her grandchildren, Tia Marie, Brandon Chase, Danielle Nicole, Joshua Loyd and Michael Owen. Tia then blessed her with her great-grandchildren, Sage Willow and Ember Snow. She spent her later years with her partner, Bill and her dog, Jodi. Loretta was a proud, strong willed and vibrant woman. Her passion in life was to be an artist through ceramics and music. Loretta always wanted to look her best. For anyone that knew Loretta, knew that she was straight forward and not afraid to share her opinion. She will be missed.

Mr. Staggs died 8:35 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his home. He was born September 6, 1929 at Wideman, Arkansas to Garland Staggs and Cleffie Hammond Staggs. Mr. Staggs grew up on a farm near Wild Cherry, Arkansas, attending grade school at Wild Cherry; he graduated from the Viola, Arkansas High School in 1948. On August 13, 1955, he was married at West Plains, Missouri to Dortha Lea Pirnack.Mr. Staggs was a veteran having served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked for Burns Benton Furniture, West Plains Floor Covering and retired in May of 1996, after owning and operating Staggs Floor Covering for forty years. Mr. Staggs was a charter member and past Exalted Ruler of the West Plains BPOE. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Mr. Staggs was baptized at a Baptist church in Arkansas when he was 16 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Dortha Staggs, of the family home; two sons, Paul Jolliff, wife, Lana, Metropolis, Illinois and Bob Jolliff, wife, Darlene, West Plains, Missouri; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Bobbye DeCook, husband, Fred, Bend, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and one sister, Betty Webb, preceded him in death.

Buddy passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in West Plains, Missouri surrounded by family. He was born November 29, 1952 to Floyd Wesley and Mary Alice (Abbey) Koonce in Mountain View, Missouri. He often spoke of many happy memories of his childhood days spent on Wolf Creek with his uncles, aunts, cousins and siblings. Buddy started his schooling in a two-room school house in Mountain View. He then moved to Koshkonong and graduated as a West Plains Zizzer in 1971. Buddy worked for a few years at Marathon Electronic before moving to Woodward, Oklahoma in 1982 where he worked as a machinist for thirty plus years with Weatherford Artificial-Lift Systems and currently was employed at Simmons Machine Works. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, fishing, sharing his love for springs and rivers, shooting and, of course, Harleys. Buddy is known for his orneriness and one-liners.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clay Holden, and nephews, Christopher Roberts and Billy Ray Billings.
Buddy is survived by his mother, Grace Holden Koonce; son, Brian and wife, Lori Koonce; daughter, Jennifer and husband, Greg Thompson; three granddaughters, Abby and husband, Matt Patterson, Adelyn and Baby Thompson; sister-in-law, Shirley Holden; sisters, Debbie and husband, Bill Ball, Mary Kay and husband, Marvin Ball, Meredith, Patti, Marilyn and husband, Keith Tharp, Terri and husband, Roger Smith, Ivena and husband, Donny Wheeler, and Carolyn and husband, Jim Billings; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Schaffer died 4:30 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at her home. She was born February 1, 1918 at Altamont, Missouri to Frank Burns and Pearl Lord Burns. On December 17, 1960, she was married at Kansas City, Missouri to Donald Paul Schaffer who preceded her in death on February 1, 1993. Mrs. Schaffer was employed for thirty years at the Leonard’s Cap Factory in Kansas City, Missouri and retired from the American Optical of Kansas City as a repair person. After retirement in Kansas City, the family moved to Pottersville, Missouri where they enjoyed many years among friends and neighbors. Mrs. Schaffer enjoyed quilting having been a member of the Love Thy Neighbor Club, loved to garden, worked part time for the West Plains Public Library and volunteered at the Animal Shelter. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Collins, Dora, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, one daughter, Pat Todd and two sons, Dick and Gary Calhoon, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Fox died 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Mercy, St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. She was born April 7, 1932 at Cureall, Missouri to Hiza Jack Williams and Esta Mable Lawing Williams. On August 29, 1953, she was married at Filer, Idaho to Elvis Allen Fox. Mrs. Fox enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Elvis Fox, of the family home; one son, Steve Fox, wife, Geneva, Ozark, Missouri; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lester Williams, Crider, Missouri and Jim Williams, wife, Verna, Tecumseh, Missouri; one sister, Lela Mawhiney, husband, Ron, Nixa, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, one son, Stanley Charles Fox, one daughter, Bonnie Faye Fox, one sister, Noma Kimbrough and one brother, Billy Joe Williams, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Stewart died 9:00 p.m., Monday, September 11, 2017 at her home. She was born September 3, 1933 at Luxora, Arkansas to Delmar Jordan and Virgil Nadine Davis Jordan. On December 19, 1950, she was married in the State of Mississippi to James Harvey Stewart who preceded her in death on April 8, 1997. Mrs. Stewart had been a physical therapist at the Copley Memorial Hospital and enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved gardening, raising flowers and walking in the woods. Mrs. Stewart was a Sunday School teacher for many years and was a member of His Place House Of Worship.
She is survived by four children, James (Jim) Stewart, wife, Marci, San Antonio, Texas, Gary Stewart, wife, Freda, Aurora, Illinois, Mary Stewart, and Martha Decker, husband, Chris, all of West Plains, Missouri; her grandchildren, Astrid Stewart, Jeremy Stewart, Jaime Stewart, Kristi Phillips, Ryan Phillips, Joshua Hart, Aubrey Palmatier, Noah Decker, Elijah Decker, Isaac Decker, Jordan Stewart, Taylor Stewart and Kaleb Stewart; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, William Jordan, wife, Doris, Myrtle, Mississippi; one sister, Rusty Sohacki, husband, Al, Phoenix, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born January 14, 1945, to A. Y. Laxton and Lorene Fox Laxton. On May 16, 1964, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Wanda Strong. Mr. Laxton was the owner and operator of Laxton Paving Company for many years. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Laxton, of the family home; two children, Mark Laxton, Dayton, Ohio and Jennifer McCormick, Nixa, Missouri; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, June Roberts and husband, John, Pottersville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one daughter, Leshia Laxton, one sister, Pat Deatherage and two brothers, Robert and Ronald Laxton, precede him in death.

She was born September 20, 1942, in Douglas County, Missouri, to Harley Haddock and Ora Cunningham Haddock. She attended Willow Springs High School and on April 21, 1973, was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Orb May. She worked at Invensys for twenty-seven years. Mrs. May was a member of Crider Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Orb May, of the family home; one daughter, Sherry Russell and husband, Dennis, West Plains, Missouri; two grandchildren, Cody Russell and wife, Randi, West Plains, Missouri and Lindy Shultz and husband, Derek, Lake Havasu City, Arizona; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Haddock and wife, Donna, Cabool, Missouri; one sister, Marge Whited and husband, Jack, Willow Springs, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and one brother precede her in death.
Mrs. May will lie in state from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Gospel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Hill Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Dorothy Helen Koelling, 91, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Koelling died 12:32 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 at West Vue Nursing Center, West Plains. She was born September 23, 1924 at Schrag, Washington to Joseph G. Schrag and Justina Dyck Schrag. She attended Bethel Baptist College, Lawrence, Kansas and on September 15, 1945, was married in the State of Washington to Glen Nat Koelling who preceded her in death on January 31, 1976. Mrs. Koelling was a member of the Stitch and Chatter Club; she enjoyed cooking and canning. She was a member of the Valley View Church for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Gladys Ball, husband, Kenneth, West Plains, Missouri; one grandson, Gary Hensley, Jr., wife, Rachel; two great-grandchildren; Emmett and Evelyn Hensley; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one son, Robert Koelling and three sisters, Ruby, Marie and Henrietta, precede her in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 9th, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
