Cheryl Lee “Cherie” Reavis
Funeral services for Cheryl Lee “Cherie” Reavis, 62, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013, at First Baptist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Cherie died at 3:10 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2013, at West Vue Nursing Center.
She was born June 20, 1951, at West Plains, Missouri, to Edward Lee “Harry” Reavis and Dorotha LaGene Newberry Reavis. As a young adult, Cherie accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at First Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher and church organist. She had also served as organist at Second Baptist Church. She was a bookkeeper for a tax service, and then was appointed by Governor Ashcroft as the local fee agent for the Missouri Department of Revenue. When the administration changed, she went to work for Morlan-Shell Ford as a receptionist. Cherie loved reading, face booking with her many friends and keeping in touch.
She is survived by her mother, Dorotha Reavis, West Plains, Missouri; special friends, David and Sandy Evans and family; and several cousins.
Her father, sister, Patricia Reavis, infant brother, Jackie Lynn Reavis and two uncles, Charles and Frank Reavis, precede her in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Just heard the news. Sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Cherie from my early childhood. I’ll never forget her telling me how I would sit in her desk drawer and play on the phone when she still worked for my dad. She always had a beautiful smile and such a wonderful personality. I can still hear her cheery laugh. Even though I haven’t seen her in years, she has always been someone so special to our family. She touched many lives during her time here with us on earth. She will be truly missed. Keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Amanda (Barnes) Lawley and Family.

My heart sank when I heard the news. She was always someone that had a smile and a good word. She has made her journey and I bet the Lord is saying, “well done my good and faithful servant”.

I wish there was something I could say to help, but there is not anything that will make it hurt any less. I do know that Cherie is in a better place now and in no pain. I can think of several stories that I could share but one comes to mind that I will always be thankful for and will remember the rest of my life. It was the time my mother, Ola Mae Kirk, dealing with cancer, had a driver’s license expire. There was no way she could have driven again, but mom was bound and determined to renew her license. She asked me to take her down to the license bureau to get it renewed. Cherie met us at the door and took mom in to take her test. She came back with her license, even though she couldn’t see well enough to take the exam. This act of kindness gave mom her dignity back and made her feel like she was someone again. I didn’t know how to thank her except give her a hug. Cherie told me she wouldn’t have it any other way. God Bless her. She will never be forgotten.

Dorotha,
You are in my prayers. I graduated from high school with Cherie, and also enjoyed hearing her play the organ at First Baptist when we came back to visit family at West Plains.
