David Leo Melvin
David Leo Melvin, the son of the late Paul Leo Melvin and Nellie Elizabeth Hendrix Melvin, was born September 28, 1941, at White Church, Missouri. He entered into eternal rest February 15, 2012, at the age of seventy years.
On November 20, 1979, he was married at Miami, Oklahoma, to Bonnie Bunch. Mr. Melvin was a veteran having served with the United States Army. Before his retirement, he was the owner/operator of Melvin Crawler Parts. Since retirement he had worked on his farm. Mr. Melvin was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Melvin, of the family home; three children, Wesley Melvin and wife, Melissa, Nixa, Missouri, Traci Wood and husband, Mike, Nixa, Missouri and Ashley Jewell and husband, Chad, West Plains, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Mallory Melvin, Zack Melvin, Austin Wood, Dustin Wood, Devin Wood, Tyler Jewell, Emma Jewell, and Jacob Jewell; six brothers, Ronald Melvin and wife, Helen, Springfield, Missouri, Ed Melvin and wife, Sandy, Wayne Melvin and wife, Wilda, Dale Melvin and wife, Tammy, Donnie Melvin, all of West Plains, Missouri, and Tom Melvin and wife, Dixi, Marshfield, Missouri; three sisters, Virginia Newberry, Manchester, Missouri, Barbara Hanks and husband, Rick, Willow Springs, Missouri, and Rita Roberson and husband, Dan, West Plains, Missouri; mother-in-law, Dorothy Bunch, Willow Springs, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one infant brother and father-in-law, Ocie Bunch, precede him in death.
