Donald “Dean” Kilkenny
Graveside services for Donald “Dean” Kilkenny, 80, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Kilkenny died at 4:15 a.m., Thursday, June 6, 2013, at West Vue Nursing center.
He was born August 30, 1932, at Canton, Missouri, to the late Kenneth Benton “Pappy” Kilkenny and Louise Burford Pollock. He graduated from high school in northern Missouri and then moved to the West Plains area, where he went into business with his father, Kenny Kilkenny, in a limestone quarry. He owned Kilkenny Limestone and Fertilizer Company for many years and then expanded with Kilkenny International Harvester tractor and implement dealership. He continued in business with auto sales and used equipment. His sons, Gary and Randy, assisted him in the businesses throughout the years. Mr. Kilkenny was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corp in the 1950’s and was a member of the Elks Lodge of West Plains.
He is survived by three daughters, Serena Speaker, husband, Bill, Brenham, Texas, Denise Solberg, husband, Cary, Portland, Oregon and Savannah Kilkenny, West Plains, Missouri; one son, Randy Kilkenny, wife, Madlyen, West Plains, Missouri; six grandchildren, Christy Englehart, Wellington, Florida, Alison Head, Richmond, Texas, Jennifer Sholes, West Plains, Missouri, Benton Kilkenny, West Plains, Missouri, Braylynn Jean Deanne Sewell, West Plains, Missouri and Harley Dean Allen Hercher, West Plains, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Logan Klineline, Sydney Englehart, Noah Englehart, Dalton Head, Taylor Hicks and Carter Hicks.
His parents and one son, Gary Kilkenny, precede him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2013, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Kilkenny will be laid to rest in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, between his father, Kenneth Kilkenny and his son, Gary Kilkenny.
