Donnie Ray Callahan
Graveside services for Donnie Ray Callahan, 71, West Plains, Missouri, will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2012, at Homeland Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Callahan died at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Brooke Haven Health Care. He was born July 15, 1940, at South Fork, Missouri, to Edmon and Alpha Easley Callahan. He attended West Plains schools graduating with the Class of 1957. Upon graduation he entered military service on April 11, 1958, enlisting in the United States Air Force where he served in Korea and was honorably discharged on June 20, 1962, at the rank of Airman First Class. In May, 1965, Donnie moved to Midland, Texas where he worked for Faulkner Office Supply. He later became a salesman for Malone Business Systems. In 1981, he went into business for himself, opening Office and Register Systems in Midland as the Sweda Cash register systems dealer for the surrounding West Texas area. He later worked for the Midland Independent School system. He attended Oaklawn Park Missionary Baptist Church in Midland where he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was the church treasurer and was later ordained as a deacon. He later attended Crestview Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. In 1996 Donnie returned to West Plains, Missouri. He was married November 11, 1999, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Louise Harris. Donnie enjoyed hunting, stock car racing, traveling, gardening and people. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, of the family home, son, Kenneth Callahan, Midland, Texas; three step-children, John Callahan, wife, Cheryl, and Ted Callahan, both of West Plains, Missouri, Elizabeth Callahan, St. Louis, Missouri; grandson, Sean Callahan, San Antonio, Texas; three step-grandchildren; two brothers, Winfred Callahan, wife, LaVonna, and Earl Callahan, both of West Plains, Missouri; four sisters, Genevie Gentry, Ella Drumright, husband, Jess, and Donna Hall, husband, Gerald, all of West Plains, Missouri and Lea Langston, husband, Jim, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
His parents, one daughter, Ladonna Lei Callahan, three brothers, Jack, Hayden and Omer Callahan and one sister, Agnes Callahan, precede him in death.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Homeland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Homeland Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Donnie was a patient of mine when I worked at Brooke Haven and he left quite the impression. He was always so sweet and caring and he was always making sure we took good care of Ms. Louise. You will be greatly missed Donnie and I am so glad I had the opportunity to know you.
