Dorothy Louise Stowers
Funeral services for Dorothy Louise Stowers, 83, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stowers died at 7:50 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014, at West Vue Nursing Center.
She was born February 4, 1931, at Twin Bridges, Missouri, to Odie Lee Croney and Eva Alberta Welch Croney. On May 9, 1950, she was married at Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Virgil Tetrick “Monk” Stowers, who preceded her in death on December 22, 2012; to their union six children were born. Mrs. Stowers enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and family gatherings. She especially enjoyed and loved her grandchildren. Mrs. Stowers was of the Church of God faith.
She is survived by four children, Glenda Collins, husband, Charles, West Plains, Missouri, Vurna White, husband, Dale, West Plains, Missouri, Vivian Stowers, special friend, John Miller, Willow Springs, Missouri and Virgil “Linn” Stowers, West Plains, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; two daughters–in-law, Kay Woods, husband, Harold, West Plains, Missouri and Judy Stowers, Mountain Grove, Missouri; two sisters, Eunice Flowers, McLouth, Kansas and Ruby Warren, husband, Verl, Ava, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, two sons, James Lee Stowers and Charles Ray Stowers, one grandson, Jamie Stowers, daughter-in-law, Lora Stowers, three brothers, Buck Croney, Bill Croney and James Croney and four sisters, Thelma Croney, Joan Croney, Hazel Gordon and Helen Drumright, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blanche Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
