Doyle Chesnut
Graveside services for Doyle Chesnut, 90, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Oak Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Chesnut passed away at 7:40 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Ozarks Medical Center.
He was born September 23, 1926, in Howell County, Missouri, to Roy Chesnut and Grace Knox Chesnut. Mr. Chesnut was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy during World War II. On July 24, 1946, he was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Mary Sue “Susie” McCrite, who preceded him in death on November 19, 2010. Before his retirement, he worked as a postal clerk with the United States Postal Service. He was a Mason and enjoyed playing golf. Mr. Chesnut attended First General Baptist Church of West Plains.
He is survived by one daughter, Sue Stout and husband, David, Springfield, Missouri; special friends, Shirley and Ken Rosenbaum; two nieces, Kathy Beaty and Ann Jagitsch; and three cousins, Joe Spears, Maxine Reid and Gale Newman.
His parents, wife, one brother, Eldon Chesnut and one sister, Glenna Jagitsch, preceded him in death.
Mr. Chesnut will lie in state from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity of choice and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
