Funeral services for Elger Phillips, 85, Peace Valley, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2022, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Phillips passed away at 9:06 a.m., Sunday, June 26, 2022, at NHC HealthCare.
He was born August 16, 1936, at Yamper, Alabama, to Charles Phillips and Etta Mae Lange Phillips. On July 8, 1959, he was married in Alabama, to Frankie Marie Pitts, who preceded him in death on June 12, 2022. Before his retirement, Mr. Phillips was a custodian at First Baptist Church, West Plains. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and going to flea markets. Mr. Phillips was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by three children, JoAnn Wood and husband, Rob, Mountain Grove, Missouri, Billy Phillips, Thomasville, Missouri and Kenneth Phillips, Peace Valley, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Roxanna Fultz and husband, Kyle, Thomas Borkus and wife, Taylor, Angela Wooten and husband, Jeff, Billy Phillips, Jr., and wife, Jessica, Tiffany Dusenbury, Josh Dusenbury and Philisha, Anthony Phillips, Megan Ingram and husband, Tim, Christopher Dusenbury and Katlyn Phillips and Dominique; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, William Pitts and wife, Pat; one sister-in-law, Louise Pitts; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, wife, two grandsons, Michael Borkus and Michael Dusenbury, one great-granddaughter, Electra Werner, two daughters-in-law, Angela and Sandra Phillips and his thirteen brothers and sisters, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Barnett Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO 65775.

He will be greatly missed by so many people. He’s gone but not forgotten. God has gained a great angel. He can fly high with the angels above now. Thanks for the great times and memories Uncle Elger. May God look over this family with the 2 loses their going through. God please help them through this hard times of life. Lord I ask you to comfort them and help them through this. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Thank you Uncle Elger for being that very special uncle. I will always carry memories of all the places you took me and my sister as kids when we spent the summer with you and Aunt Frankie. Wrestling, Dog Patch and floating rivers still comes to mind thirty some year later. May God Bless You.
