Fern Spence

Funeral services for Fern Spence, 90, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Spence died at 6:20 a.m., Monday, December 2, 2013, at West Vue Nursing Center.

She was born April 7, 1923, at Hutton Valley, Missouri, to Guy Webb and Lillie Acklin Webb.  She attended the Willow Springs High School and on February 13, 1943, was married at San Luis Obispo, California, to Vernon Spence.  Before her retirement, she worked at International Shoe Company and Rawlings Manufacturing.  Mrs. Spence was a member of Dry Creek General Baptist Church for over seventy years.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon Spence, of the family home; two daughters, Donna Romans, Kansas City, Missouri and Bonnie Bryan, husband, Ronnie, Pomona, Missouri, very special friends, Tom and Betty Good; three grandchildren, Kelley Thompson, husband, Doug, Mission Hills, Kansas, AAron Bryan, wife, Christa, Springfield, Missouri and Amber Kristek, husband, Chris, Springfield, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren, Emily, Spencer and Pierce Thompson, Kindall, Kamrynn, Kristian and Karrington Kristek and Aiden and Tyson Bryan; two sisters, Joyce Bryan, husband, Tom, Lyle, Washington and Melba Webb, Willow Springs, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, two brothers, Harold Webb and Guy Webb, Jr. and one sister, Janet Havens, precede her in death.

Mrs. Spence will lie in state from 4:00 pm Wednesday until service time at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Dry Creek Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shaw Cancer Treatment Center at Ozarks Medical Center, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
