Georgia Gertrude (Casey) Mitchell
Funeral services for Georgia Gertrude (Casey) Mitchell, 90, West Plains, Missouri, will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Mitchell died at 3:33 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2012, at West Vue Nursing Center. She was born February 4, 1922, at Elijah, Missouri, to Alfred Henson Casey and Edith Clara Maritt Casey. On August 28, 1940, she was married to Charles O. Boswell, who preceded her in death on March 28, 1943. On July 30, 1946, she was married to Q. L. Mitchell, who preceded her in death on February 23, 1963. Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and enjoyed visiting and quilting. Her family was her life and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Gertie was baptized into the Church of Christ at an early age and remained a faithful Christian her entire life. She attended Central Church of Christ for several years.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Joy Brown, husband, David, Dixon, Missouri and one son, Dale Henry Mitchell, wife, Pat, Caulfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Dale Brown, wife, Sherry, Dixon, Missouri, Gregory Daniel Brown, companion, Sarah Wolfe, Dixon, Missouri, Daphne Michelle Bentley, husband, Myles, Udall, Missouri, Elizabeth Renee Clements, husband, Jefferson, Caulfield, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nate Williams, Chiara Brown, Jaryn Brown and Olivia Clements; one sister, Freda Bean, West Plains, Missouri, one brother, Pat Henry Casey, wife, Shirley, West Plains, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Ima Casey, Heber Springs, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and many more family members and friends.
Her parents, husbands, one sister, Beulah Silver and two brothers, Melvin Casey and Fred Casey, precede her in death.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until service time on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elijah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Elijah Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
