James Leonard Croney
Graveside services for James Leonard Croney, 84, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012, at Pottersville Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Croney died at 12:34 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2012, at West Vue Nursing Center, West Plains, Missouri. He was born February 5, 1928, at Trail, Missouri, to James William and Nellie Matilda Smith Croney. On April 7, 1949, he was married at Mountain Home, Arkansas to Elsie McKee. Mr. Croney was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a farmer and had been employed with Boeing Air Craft and Eaton Corporation. Mr. Croney was a fiddle player and enjoyed playing at benefits.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Croney, of the family home; three children, Gary Lee Croney, wife, Lisa, Dora, Missouri, Stanley Gene Croney, wife, Janice, Mountain Home, Arkansas and Kathy Jo McCleary, husband, Doug, Dora, Missouri; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
His parents, one infant son and two sisters, precede him in death.
Mr. Croney will lie in state from 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2012, until 12:00 noon on Monday, June 4, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Pottersville Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
