James O. “John” Cotter
Funeral services for James O. “John” Cotter, 78, Moody, Missouri will be at 2:00 pm Monday, March 5, 2012 at Free Union Church of Christ in Leota, Missouri.
Mr. Cotter died at 7:14 pm, Friday, March 2, 2012 at Ozarks Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1933, at Leota, Missouri to the late Otis William and Gladys Henson Cotter. On March 1, 1952, he was married at Salem, Arkansas to Peggy Rhodes. He was a farmer and also owner of John’s Saw Shop in Moody, Missouri. He enjoyed his shop and loved trading and bargaining. Mr. Cotter was a member of the Moody Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cotter of the family home; five children: Mike Cotter, West Plains, Missouri; Joe Cotter and wife Sandy, Tremont, Illinois; Richard Cotter and wife Brenda. West Plains, Missouri; Mark Cotter and wife Trish, Moody, Missouri; John Cotter and wife Jodie of West Plains, Missouri. Eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. One sister, Janie England, Waldo, Arkansas and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
His parents, two brothers, and one daughter-in-law, Twiletta Cotter precede him in death.
Mr. Cotter will lie in state from Noon Sunday, March 4, 2012 until Noon Monday. March 5, 2012 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in Free Union Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Fairhaven Children’s Home or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

My heart goes out to Peggy & the family. I remember as a little girl John stopping by my grandpa’s house. What a kind gentle man he was.
So sorry for the loss the family has suffered.
