Janet Cawvey
Janet Cawvey
Graveside services for Janet Cawvey, 87, Fair Grove, Missouri, formerly of West Plains, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2023, at State Line Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cawvey passed away due to natural causes on March 31, 2023 surrounded by family in Fair Grove, Missouri.
Janet Lou was born April 19, 1935 to Milton and Irene Bridgman in Somerset, Kentucky. She had a strong faith and was a member of First General Baptist Church in West Plains prior to moving to Fair Grove in 2020 where she joined Faith Freewill Baptist Church. Janet spent her childhood in Kentucky and Illinois. She met the love of her life, Marshall Cawvey, after moving to Moko, Arkansas in 1951. Marshall was home visiting his family prior to deployment to Korea with the United States Army. They were married on May 22, 1953, just a few weeks after Marshall returned from Korea. Together they provided a loving home to their six children in the Glenwood community. Janet was a doting mother to her kids, always serving as a home room mother and participating in every PTA event that came along. She made sure the kids were always in Sunday School and on their best behavior when out of the house. Her dining room was always open to visiting friends and in later years, she did her best to spoil her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Janet has now reunited in Heaven with Marshall and three of her children, Craig, Sheila, and Marsha.
She leaves behind two daughters, Terri Tomlinson (Brian) and Robin Torretta (Terry); one son, Von (Jan); eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind Marshall’s sister, Fern Duke, in Michigan.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. The family is grateful for the loving care provided over the past two years by Ollie Holloway and the support provided by Seasons Hospice over the past few months. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation through to Stateline Cemetery or the hospice organization of your choice which may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO 65775.
