Joe Dale Brown
Funeral services for Joe Dale Brown, 76, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown died 12:15 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at his home. He was born February 15, 1936 at West Plains, Missouri to Carl Henry and Wanda Vonzella Eades Brown. He graduated from the West Plains High School with the Class of 1954 and on September 23, 1955, was married at West Plains, Missouri to Neita Jean Easley. Before his retirement, Mr. Brown was employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was the Pastor at the Moody Church of Christ for thirty-six years.
He was a life long resident of West Plains except for one year during which time, he and Neita lived and worked at a orphan’s home in Springhill, Tennessee. Also, he and Neita, lived in the same house that they built together.
Joe loved his family, we are his legacy. His values, strength and faith in the Lord will continue through the generations. Joe had many loves in his life – the Lord, his family, music, writing and books. He shared all these loves with others and made their lives richer. Knowing him and being a part of his life has been a blessing very few people get to have.
He is survived by his wife, Neita Brown, of the family home; three children, Gary Brown and wife, Pam, David Brown and wife, Tammy and Sherri Boyd and husband, Charles, all of West Plains, Missouri; ten grandchildren and their spouses; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Brown, West Plains, Missouri; two sisters, Jennie Mangrum and husband, Lowell, West Plains, Missouri and WaNeva Taylor and husband, Charles, State of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, one infant sister and on sister-in-law, Ardis Brown, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:oo until 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 8th at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paragould Children’s Home and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
