Johnie David Adams
Funeral services for Johnie David Adams, 84, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Family Life Church, Dora, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Adams died at 10:20 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
He was born September 6, 1928, at Perry, Oklahoma, to Marshal and Rosa Bell Wade Adams. He graduated from Dora High School and then joined the Army Air Corps. On November 18, 1950, he was married at Peoria, Illinois, to the love of his life, Darlene Ellen Strum. His numerous occupations included bus driver, car salesman, draftsman, carpenter and farmer; but his greatest achievement was making friends and being a friend. He was a musician, song leader and Sunday school teacher at Dora Family Life Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who could never keep his secret places a secret. His love and dedication to his family was only surpassed by his love for God.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Adams, of the family home; two sons, Terry Adams, wife, Jean, Callaway, Nebraska and Ron Adams, wife, Pam, West Plains, Missouri; six grandchildren, Laura and Travis Adams of West Plains, Taylor Swink, Springfield, Missouri, Michelle Schwartz, North Platte, Nebraska, Tami Albrecht, St. Augustine, Florida and Jason Adams, Lincoln, Nebraska; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Marshall Adams, wife, Joyce, Groveland, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews; and all the members of Dora Family Life Church were considered part of his family, “where everybody is somebody and Jesus Christ is Lord”.
His parents, one brother, Garel Adams and one sister, Naomi Adams, precede him in death.
The family will receive their friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Grove Cemetery or Dora Family Life Church, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Johnny will be greatly missed. I loved to hear Johnny and Darlene sing. It was always a blessing from God just to hear them sing. Their love for God was felt by everyone who was ever around them. May God Bless this family.
