Graveside services for Joseph Alvin Rieger, 91, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Sweeton Pond Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Rieger passed away at 11:36 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022, at NHC HealthCare.
He was born September 15, 1930, in Ozark County, Missouri, to James Monroe Rieger and Florence Ann Orwick Rieger. On August 9, 1963, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Joy Reed. Mr. Rieger was a veteran, having served with the United States Army. Before his retirement, he worked as a welder. Mr. Rieger stayed busy building things and tinkering with cars.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Rieger, of the family home; two children, David Rieger and wife, Karen and Gail Hurt, all of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kara, Niki and Kelley; three brothers, Lloyd, Jim and Norman Rieger; and several nieces and nephews
His parents, and two brothers, Clinton and Dwight Rieger, preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sweeton Pond Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO 65775.

Sorry to hear about Al passing. I would have been to his funeral had I known. I’m an old friend from High School. I’ll always remember Al for being a pretty good Baseball pitcher.
