Juanita Sarah “Wink” Layman
Funeral services for Juanita Sarah “Wink” Layman, 93, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2012, at Victoria Mission Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Layman died at 11:15 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Ozarks Medical Center.
She was born July 31, 1919, at Rover, Missouri, to Cecil and Mary Campbell Miller. On December 24, 1940, she was married at Alton, Missouri, to Climeth Odel Layman. Mrs. Layman was a member of Victoria Mission Church and of the Assembly of God faith. She was a Sunday school teacher in her younger years and did anything she needed to do for the church. Mrs. Layman loved to cook for her family and they never left her table hungry; she also loved to quilt and at the age of ninety-three was in the process of making a nine patch quilt for her first great-great-grandchild. She was known for her beautiful smile and fun loving humor.
She is survived by her husband of seventy-one years, Climeth Layman, of the family home; five children, Bletta Sunderman, West Plains, Missouri, Emelda Smith, husband, Howard, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Wilmetta Layman, Morton, Washington, Clem Layman, wife, Menta, Morton, Washington and Bill Layman, wife, Becky, Morton, Washington; daughter-in-law, Wilda Layman, Birch Tree, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Cook, West Plains, Missouri and Fern Celli, Sacramento, California; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, one son, Leon Layman, one grandson, Clinton Howard Smith, one son-in-law, Ron Sunderman, one brother, Charles Miller, five sisters, Emegene Willard, Josephine Holman, Geneva Mobly, Lura Haighwood and Donna Helmer, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Smile Train, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
