Junior Brixey
Junior Brixey
Funeral services for Junior Brixey, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in the Multi-Purpose Sanctuary at the United Freewill Baptist Church, under the direction of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Brixey was ushered into the presence of his Lord and eternal home at 6:20 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2021, at Ozarks Medical Center.
He was born on August 25, 1935, to the late Buster Brixey and Jewell Collins Brixey. Junior met his lifelong sweetheart, Betty Wheeler, at a Bakersfield picnic. They were married on December 19, 1952, at West Plains, Missouri. He ran a milk route in his early years and had many stories to tell related to that time. He was co-owner of West Plains Packing Plant. Junior was also employed at the International Shoe Factory for a time. He is probably most known for his 40+ years as a local car salesman. Junior thrived at this vocation and loved meeting and talking to his new and returning customers. If he wasn’t selling cars he was working on his property. He took pride in how his place looked as you drove by and strived to have the best-looking fence and most ornate entrance on CC Highway. The most important legacy he left behind was his love for the Lord and his church. He very rarely sat down before the services started. He had people to greet, Daily Breads to hand out, and candy for the kids. What mattered the most to Junior when all was said and done was the Lord, his family, and hard work.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Brixey, of the family home; two daughters, Debbie Adams and husband, Dennis and Vonnie Thompson and husband, Clay; four grandchildren, Sonya McGinley and husband, Dennis, Shannon Kiefer and husband, Chris, Josh Adams and wife, Ashlea and Jared Thompson; eleven great-grandchildren, Gracie Watson, Logan Watson, Cade Kiefer, Garel McGinley, Eli McGinley, Parker McGinley, Brixey Adams, Mylea Adams, Kinlee Adams, Jase Adams, and Lillie Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster Brixey and Jewell Collins Brixey.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 9, 2021, in the Multi-Purpose Sanctuary at the United Freewill Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Grove Cemetery or the United Freewill Baptist Youth Fund and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO 65775.

Junior was a kind person. Liked by all. My dad Adam Welch helped with those fences on the property and considered him a great friend. He will be missed by all. Prayers to Betty and his family.
