Funeral services for Junior Tess Hunt, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Hunt passed away at 10:27 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2022, at his home.
He was born June 5, 1936, at Moody, Missouri, to Tess and Ruth Helen Nicks Hunt. On January 6, 1956, he was married to Norma Jean Driskell, who preceded him in death on January 5, 1992 (one day before their 36th Wedding Anniversary). One son, Randy was born to their union. On March 13, 1993, he was married to Vonda Williams Coldiron. Junior told his family that being married to Vonda made him a better person. He was the owner/operator of Hunt’s transmission for a number of years. Junior was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching Randy and his grandchildren play sports. Mr. Hunt was a member of the Moody Church of Christ for fifty-seven years.
Junior leaves behind his wife, Vonda Hunt, of the family home; one son, Randy Hunt and wife, Karen, West Plains; his marriage to Vonda gave him two step-daughters, Vonna Doering and husband, Doug, West Plains and Ronna Turner and husband, Brent, Rogers, Arkansas; Junior cherished his four grandchildren, Brice Hunt and wife, Ava, Ethan Hunt, Regan Turner and Jake Turner; his life was brightened the last two years with a great-granddaughter, Nora Jean Hunt; two brothers, Ronnie Hunt, Kissee Mills, Missouri and Norman Hunt and wife, Beverly, South Fork, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, 1st wife, one brother, Roger Dale Hunt and one sister, Aliene Gordon, preceded him in death.
Mr. Hunt will lie in state from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Outreach Center or Paragould Children’s Home and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO 65775.

Junior was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting. He cared for everyone and had their best interest at heart. We love the family and will miss Junior greatly.
