Graveside services for Kitty Pauline Smith Pyatt, 87, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Stuart Union Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pyatt passed away at 6:48 a.m., Sunday, September 19, 2021, at West Vue Nursing Center.
She was born November 5, 1933 at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Aubra Shanks and Eunice May DeLarm Shanks. She graduated from Bakersfield High School with the Class of 1952. On May 8, 1953, she was married at Salem, Arkansas to J. D. Smith, who preceded her in death on October 10, 1994. On October 24, 1999, she was married at Pomona, Missouri to John Henry (Hank) Pyatt, who preceded her in death on November 26, 2018. Mrs. Pyatt enjoyed quilting, cooking, and gardening. She was a member of Stuart Union Church.
She is survived by five children, Check Smith and wife, Janet, John Smith and wife, Becky, Bobby Smith, Claude Smith and wife, Melinda, and Connie George and husband, Clint; twelve grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Billy Shanks and wife, Edith; one sister, Trudy Wood and husband, David; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husbands, three brothers, Wilfred Lee Shanks, Bob Shanks, and Jerry Shanks, and one great-grandson, Jaxtyn George preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Stuart Union Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO 65775.
