Leslie Edward Ellett
Funeral services for Leslie Edward Ellett, 87, Peace Valley, Missouri, will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Chapel Hill Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Ellett died at 8:10 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2012, at his home. He was born February 19, 1925, at Plainville, Kansas, to Edward William and Arvilla May Jarvis Ellett. He was married to Inez Miller, and to that union Leslie Dewayne Ellett was born. On December 1, 1951, he was married at Peace Valley, Missouri, to Leona “Maxine” Story. Before his retirement, Mr. Ellett was a teamster truck driver. He raised and trained race horses, loved logging and playing pitch with his family. Mr. Ellett was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy and was a member of the Mountain View Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Ellett was a Christian.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Ellett, of the family home; four children, Leslie Dewayne Ellett, wife, Lorraine, West Plains, Missouri, Leroy Edward Ellett, wife, Linda, Peace Valley, Missouri, Leona Nichols, husband, Morris, Ashland, Missouri and Della Pauline Schafer, fiance, Rolan Norsworthy, Peace Valley, Missouri; numerous grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Ralph Story, Adrian, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Naomi Ellett, Mountain View, Missouri, Joann Ellett, Carthage, Missouri and Gertrude Wallis, Mountain View, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, one son, Dan Davis Ellett, one granddaughter, Shawnna Beth, three brothers and five sisters, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
