Lonnie L. Newton

A visitation service for Lonnie L. Newton, 69, West Plains, Missouri, will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Newton died at 2:30 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at his home.

He was born January 23, 1944, at Zanoni, Missouri, to Joseph Clifford Newton and Edna Lea Carter Newton.  On July 27, 1963, he was married at Kansas City, Missouri, to Joanne Brizendine.  He and Joanne were married for fifty years.  Mr. Newton was the owner/operator of a concrete business for twenty years.  He loved to hunt and fish.  He was loved and will be missed by many.  Mr. Newton was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Newton, of the family home; three children, Joe Newton, wife, Sheri, Doug Newton and Hollie Newton, significant other, Scott Adams; seven grandchildren, Ryan Newton, Brian Newton, Amanda Brockey, Nikki Chickvary, Madison Newton, Hanie Newton and Paige Newton; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford Newton, Jr. “Tubbs”, wife, Debbie and Jerry Newton; and one sister, Margaret Mendal, husband, Joe, Ava, Missouri.

His parents and four brothers, Alvie, Mark, Donnie and Jim Newton, precede him in death.
