Louise Callahan
Graveside services for Martha Louise Harris Callahan, 83, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Homeland Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Callahan died at 5:43 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Brooke Haven Health Care.
She was born August 13, 1932, to Ted and Agnes Harris. Louise was a professional cosmetologist and business woman in West Plains for fifty-five years. She loved all aspects of her job, especially making people look and feel better about themselves. Louise, along with others, worked hard to establish a chemotherapy fund in Howell County, for disadvantaged women, before the Look Good Feel Better program was started. She enjoyed her family, friends, gardening and traveling. Louise was a member of the Pioneer Saddle Club and the First Presbyterian Church of West Plains.
She is survived by three children, Elizabeth Callahan, Ballwin, Missouri, John Edward Callahan, wife Cheryl and Ted Lee Callahan, wife, Annette all of West Plains; one step-son, Kenneth Callahan, Midland, Texas; two grandchildren, Brianna and John Ryan; three step-grandchildren, Allison, Ashlyn, husband, Brandon and Sean; one brother, Ted Eugene Harris, wife, Norma Sue, West Plains, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, two husbands, Hayden and Donnie Callahan and two brothers, Winfred and Sidney, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Charles F. and Joanne Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center in the Department of Neurology at Washington University or Missouri Council of the Blind and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
