Margaret Mary Carlson
A Mass of Resurrection for Margaret Mary Carlson, 89, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carlson died at 7:07 a.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at her home, with her family at her side.
She was born July 28, 1924, on Staten Island, New York, to William J. O’Donnell and Kathleen Donovan O’Donnell. On October 10, 1945, she married her best friend and high school sweetheart, Rex Carlson on Staten Island. Margaret was a loving and devoted wife to Rex for sixty-eight years. Mrs. Carlson was an executive secretary for a communications company. She loved people, was a very giving and loving person. Her sweet personality, warm smile and sparkling eyes will always be missed. Mrs. Carlson was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Rex Carlson, of the family home; three children, Bill Carlson, wife, Michelle, West Plains, Missouri, Audrey Kaufman, husband, Peter, Marquette, Michigan and John Carlson, Dallas, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Bryan Carlson, Sean Carlson, Megan Carlson Brown, Karin Shady, Carl Anderson, Jonathan Carlson and Christopher Carlson; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert T. O’Donnell, wife, Joan, Arlington Heights, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, two brothers and one sister, precede her in death.
The family will receive their friends from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., Monday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverways Home Health and Hospice and Margaret’s evening caregivers for the exceptional care that was shown to their loved one.

Kay and I would like to offer our deepest sympathy. We did not know your mother, but know you and if she was anything like you she was a wonderful person. We are sure that she will be missed.

Rex,Audrey,Bill,and John so sorry to hear of your mothers passing .Im sure you all will miss her so much .The times I was there I could tell she loved all of you. I wish I could have known her better before she got sick. But from the Mrs.Carlson I knew she was a very sweet and loving person I enjoyed the time I spent with her .She,s in a beautiful place now and no longer in any pain smiling down on you all Im sure. I will miss her as well and wish I could have gotten to see her one last time. I loved her too. My thoughts and Prayers are with you all at this time. Take care

We will miss her sense of humor and they way she took care of everyone. Her warm and kindness to others made everyone comfortable. She loved her family and we know that you are feeling a terrible loss. Our thoughts and prayers ware with you.
