Melva P. Allen

A memorial service for Melva P. Allen, 72, Pomona, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2016 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen passed away at 1:35 a.m., Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Ozarks Medical Center.

She was born April 1, 1943, at St. Louis, Missouri, to Melvin Texas Austin and Ethel Jorden Austin.  On December 16, 1971, she was married at Las Vegas, Nevada, to Amel Allen.  Melva loved her family very much and also had a great love of animals; she was especially fond of her two dogs, Benji and Boomer and one cat, Boots.  She enjoyed raising calves; giving each one of them their own special name as if they were house pets.  Melva also enjoyed reading, country music, working in her yard and feeding wild birds.

She is survived by her husband, Amel Allen, of the family home; two children, Kris Denny Allen and wife, Tracie Allen, Pomona, Missouri and Kevin David Allen, and wife, Teresa Reynolds Allen, Kansas City, Missouri; one son-in-law, Meryl Gullings, Pomona, Missouri; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents and one daughter, Bobbi Jo Gullings, precede her in death.
